The beach in front offers a nice beach cove with excellent snorkeling.Wake up in the morning, walk across the street.. and take a swim, spend the evening lying on a blanket enjoying the stars..... Enjoy all the extras Las Olas offers on a budget vacation! The property has fruit trees, coco palms and lots of tropical flowers.Enjoy fresh bananas, coconuts guava on the property. A garden area features a fountain and bird bath, which attracts many birds, including the resident parakeets, love birds and cockatiels in a cages! Sit on your balcony off the living room and enjoy the view of the ocean and the garden area. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and air conditioner. It is fully furnished and has a futon in the living room to sleep 2 more people. The kitchen is fully equipped.Large bathroom shower. Newest Vieques Island Paintings

I am finally painting again after months of not painting. It took two close friends of 33 plus years to come to Vieques and really get on my case! And they did. I had become very involved in beading jewelery for months and months, and months and months.Perhaps thats what I needed as it was a mindless obsession! Now I will put the same energy into painting. i have switched painting mediums and am now working in acrylic and it is like I am learning to paint again. Of course it does not help that I have not lifted a paint brush since last year. Soon I will start my Annual Chincoteague Island Pony Poster and eventually start painting the wild horses of Vieques Island.

Two new Vieques Oil Paintings

These were finished this past week. They are each 9x12 inches, and are oils. I am still painting almost every day and am quite versatile in my subject matter. It is time to start some new ones of Vieques as what I am currently painting is Chincoteague Island scenes. These two paintings will go into a local Vieques art gallery for sale. The window is from an abandoned house in Monte Santo barrio. And the other one is of the caves at Navio Beach.

"La Chata" oil painting, Vieques Island, Puerto Rico

"La Chata" features a late afternoon on the beach. This beach is close to my home. When my daughter was young we would walk with our dogs along this beach, and spend countless hours beach combing this stretch of beach. La Chata is a favorite for the local surfers, especially during the winter months. I remember when there was just a few houses along the beachfront here, it is not like that anymore. The beach is still great with reefs and interesting shoreline.

My current art studio is a spare bedroom, the due to the heat of the summer. The third floor studio was without air conditioning, so I was spending all my time in the ocean. Now I am painting almost daily.
